The Solution
Topgolf sought a robust technology infrastructure to deliver immersive in-bay gaming experiences while efficiently managing venue services and operations. To meet this need, the company opted for Dell VxRail Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI). This comprehensive solution integrates compute, storage, networking, and optimized VMware virtualization into a unified system, simplifying centralized management and bolstering cybersecurity through streamlined endpoint patching and updates. At the heart of each Topgolf venue lies a six-node VxRail cluster, equipped with two NVIDIA GPUs per node. These clusters host multiple virtualized servers, efficiently supporting key applications while minimizing physical footprint and reducing space and cooling expenses. Topgolf's collaboration with Dell Technologies, VMware and NVIDIA resulted in the development of a specialized applications, seamlessly integrated into the VxRail HCI framework. This application introduces Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) capabilities alongside Dell Wyse thin clients, enabling the delivery of immersive 3D gaming experiences to individual bays while facilitating guest services. Crucially, the NVIDIA virtual GPU software plays a pivotal role in powering the AI/ML and 3D gaming solution, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
